- First, make sure that you have a functioning MetaTrader 4 platform installed on your computer. If you haven’t done so already, download the MT4 platform from your broker’s website and follow the instructions to install it.
- Once you have the MT4 platform installed and running, locate the “Navigator” window on the left-hand side of the platform. This window should contain a list of different account and trading related options.
- Within the “Navigator” window, look for the “Expert Advisors” option and click on the small arrow to expand the menu.
- From the expanded “Expert Advisors” menu, select the “MQL4” folder.
- Within the “MQL4” folder, locate the “Experts” folder and click on it to open it up.
- Now, you’ll need to place the EA file that you want to install into this folder. To do this, you can simply drag and drop the EA file from its location on your computer into the “Experts” folder.
- Once the EA file is in the “Experts” folder, close and restart the MT4 platform.
- After restarting the MT4 platform, open up the “Navigator” window again and locate the “Expert Advisors” option.
- From the “Expert Advisors” menu, you should now see the name of the EA that you just installed listed. Right-click on the EA’s name and select “Attach to a chart.”
- A settings window for the EA will now appear. Here, you can adjust any settings or parameters for the EA that you want to use. Once you’re done adjusting the settings, click “OK.”
- The EA is now installed and running on your MT4 platform. You can monitor its performance in the “Terminal” window at the bottom of the platform. If the EA is active and trading, you should see a smiley face icon next to its name in the “Navigator” window.
