It measures the market before it measures the signal.
Before any entry is considered, Rainforest Gold works out where current volatility sits against the last 200 bars, as a percentile. Two kinds of market are refused outright: the dead range that bleeds an account through the spread, and the chaos where stops get jumped rather than filled. It only engages in the band between, and every refusal can be written to the log so you can see exactly what it turned down and why.
How a trade is chosen.
A signal clears the whole stack or no order is sent. There is no partial agreement, and no weighting that lets a weak reading be carried by a strong one.
Trend
Fast EMA against slow EMA, read either as a position or as a crossover. You choose which.
Momentum
RSI must clear the long threshold, or fall under the short threshold. Being on the right side of 50 is not enough.
Trend strength
ADX must be above the minimum. A direction with no force behind it does not qualify as a trade.
Confirmation
CCI must agree with the side of the trade.
Awesome Oscillator
Must sit on the same side of zero as the entry.
Volatility band
The ATR percentile filter. Chop and chaos are both refused.
Spread ceiling
Above your maximum spread, nothing is sent at all.
Session window
Trades only inside the hours you set, in broker server time.
Three further filters ship switched off, so the system can be tightened rather than loosened: a higher-timeframe EMA layer, MACD divergence with a configurable minimum strength, and a pin bar requirement with its own wick-to-body ratios. Turning any of them on reduces trade frequency. None of them can increase it.
Five ways out. First one to trigger wins.
Entries are one decision. Everything after that is risk management, and this is where most gold systems quietly give back what they made.
Hard stop loss
On every position, from the moment it opens. There is no configuration of this EA that runs without one.
Take profit
Set on entry, at a fixed distance you control.
Break-even
Once the trade reaches your chosen share of the target, the stop moves to entry plus an offset. From that point the trade can no longer hurt the account.
ATR trailing stop
Activates at your chosen progress point and trails at a multiple of ATR, so a strong move is followed instead of being capped at the target.
Exhaustion exits
Once a position is meaningfully in profit it closes if RSI reaches an exhaustion level, or if volume fades against the move. Profit is taken when the move stops working.
Partial closing is available if you would rather bank a portion and let the remainder run.
Position sizing you can audit.
Two sizing modes
Fixed lot. Exactly what you set, capped at your maximum and rounded down to the broker's lot step.
Risk based. You give it a percentage of balance. It calculates the real money loss per lot at your stop distance using your broker's own tick value, sizes to that figure, rounds down, and caps it.
If the correct size falls below the broker minimum, it does not quietly round up and take more risk than you asked for. It prints the actual risk percentage you will be running to the log, so the decision stays yours.
Every sizing calculation is written to the journal. None of the maths is hidden.
Running next to your other robots
Rainforest Gold tags its positions with a magic number and manages only those. Your manual trades and your other EAs are invisible to it, and it will never modify or close a position it did not open.
Backtest speed without live imprecision
Entries are evaluated on bar open, which keeps optimisation runs fast. Exits run at tick level, which is where precision actually matters. Both are switchable if you prefer the older behaviour.
What it is not.
Worth reading before you buy, not after. If any line here is a dealbreaker, this is not the right system for you and I would rather you knew now.

Requirements
MetaTrader 5, an XAUUSD symbol, and a broker with competitive gold spreads. A VPS is recommended so the robot keeps running when your machine does not.

The live account record and the Edge Matrix validation are published on this page as soon as the reports are finalised. Until they are, there are no performance figures here, because a number nobody can check is worth nothing.
